Building a service menu access code generator

A service centre for specialist equipment needed unrestricted access to the software's service mode. This was necessary to meet customer expectations regarding post-warranty repairs. After the application controlling the device was provided, we determined how the service key algorithm worked, which made it possible to generate keys.

The client received:

• A PC application for generating service keys
• An Android application for generating service keys

Preparing additional language versions without the source code

An equipment importer began working with a Chinese supplier. The ordered product had no English version of the user interface, and it was not possible to obtain the source code either.

The order included:

• Preparing a Polish and English version of the software
• Preparing an installer in Polish and English

Protecting intellectual property on a smart card

The client wanted to give employees access to software that was highly sought after by competitors, but was concerned that employees might share it further. The solution was to place a key part of the code on a smart card.

• The applet on the smart card has a validity period, so if the card is lost the algorithm cannot be accessed without authorisation
• The applet's validity period can be conveniently extended with a one-time code
• Each card has its own validity period and must be topped up once it expires
